Inventions

PlayStation (PSX) was the first video game console developed by Sony for desktop, created in 1990. This console is a pioneer in the use of CD-ROM as a storage medium for their games, regardless of conventional cartridges that Nintendo and Sega handled.

The Xbox video game console is considered the most successful of the fifth generation in both sales and popularity. He had great success in using the CD-ROM on your hardware, even though other companies have already employed, such as Sega (Sega CD), Panasonic (3DO), Phillips (CD-i) and SNK (Neo Geo CD). These companies had little success when using the CD-ROM as a support for storing games. It is estimated that worldwide Sony managed to sell 102.5 million Playstations.
